Hi Traci,
"What would I like to see happening on the Jennings County
GenWeb site??" Thank You for asking. (I want to help!!)
Just to name a few things I personally would like to see online on this site :
1) The 1850 Census records that were once on this site, back online and expanded. Plus, the 1840, 1860, 1870 Census records. (Big order I know )
2) The earlier - "Jennings County History" Book, online.
3) Cemetery Records - that have been documented and are available at the JCLibrary.
4) Early Tax Records
5) Early School and Church Records
6) First Settlers Info, etc., - Biographies
7) Researched - Jennings County Family Histories
8) Early Letters of Interest to Jennings County.
9) Any historic documents and information that list the "surnames" of the people who lived in Jennings County, in the early days of the county.
10) Civil War Enlistments for Jennings Co.
I know Volenteers are needed to do the typing, etc., to get such data online. Just let us Jennings County researchers know how to get ahold of the data, at what cost and the easiest proceedure / format used to get the info online.
Once a decision is made by the coordinator(s) - as to what should be put on the site, I am ready and willing to do what is asked of me, to help in the effort.
Are there any copies of the early "Jennings County History" books available for purchase?? Cost?
Sincerely,
Judy Mills Boie
