I am interested in locating information on the following families that came from Montgomery Co., Ohio c 1826 and settled in HenryCo., IN:
ELISHA MILLS and JACOB MILLS who were listed on the Wayne Twp., Henry Co., IN 1830 census. In 1830 Elisha is listed on census as between 20 - 30 with a wife aged 15-20, one male child under 5 and an older male 60 - 70. That's if I am reading it right. Living right next door to Elisha Mills in 1830, is a James Johnson - 30-40 whose wife is known to be a Jane Mills 20-30, 3 males under 5 and 1 female 5-10. I am trying to prove that this Elisha Mills and Jane (Mills) Johnson were brother and sister. Also close by is a Jacob Mills - age 30-40
with wife (?) 20-30, 5 males under 20 and 4 females under 10.
This Jacob may also be a brother to Elisha and Jane.
Then living close to Jacob is my gr gr gr grandparents -
John and Abigail (MILLS) Driver who are both aged 30-40 with 3 males under 5 and 1 female under 5. I am trying to connect all the above Mills's to each other as from one family back in Ohio before these families settled in Henry Co., IN.
My John and Abigail (Mills) Driver died of cholera near Knightstown in 1835 and are buried - probably on what was then their homested farm and then by early 1840's, all the rest of these Mills families and the Johnson family had moved on from Henry County to , I believe, the Farmland area of Randolph Co., IN.
Found in the Old Pioneer Baptist church cemetery near Knightstown -Henry County, is a Joseph Mills -b: 1751 d: 1835.
Anyone researching these Henry Co., IN Mills families?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Judy Mills Boie - Minnesota
