Thanks for answering so quickly! I went back to check my sources for this family and it's an IGI file that gives no source that names a location for either James or William. There are a few IGI files there that say New Jersey and one that says Virginia. The better source is Ernest Byron Cole, The Winship Family in America which is can be read and downloaded for free from Google Books. It's a small book that I've consulted in a library. He did his own research from original sources but doesn't list them. He doesn't give locations for James or William except for a marriage date of Oct. 13, 1799, in Newark, NJ. Elizabeth is in there and if you haven't seen it yet it's interesting and well put together.

I don't see myself getting anywhere farther with this line than Cole did. I'm nowhere near NJ and James was his grandfather so you'd think if the information was available then he might have included it. If I come across anything else on them I'll let you know! Sincerely, Susan
