I'm wondering if you've found anything since your post back in 2004? I am also seeking this Ross family, but I'm descended from her brother (not sure) James Ross(1786-1836) who married Elizabeth Winship(1785-1869) of the same family. The Winship family itself is easier to find. The Winship Family in America, by Cole is public Domain now and searchable on Google Books. But that Ross family is still a mystery. It's partly a mystery since Cole mentions that the first four children in James Ross and Elzabeth Winship's family were born in New York, but they were married in Newark, NJ. Not that they're all that far away, but it does make it a little more complicated!
