Hi, Richard J. MANRING apparently survived the Civil War and died sometime later. All on the list apparently have a verified obituary in a newspaper, likely the Muncie "Star." If you had a death date you could order a microfilmed copy of that newspaper via your reference librarian.

There is apparently other, nonrelated information on this gentleman in a 1994 issue, No. 1, page 16 of the "Delaware Co. Genealogist," published by the Delaware Co. Historical Alliance, in Muncie, IN .

This historical society and their publications are excellent resources for anyone researching ancestors who lived in Delaware Co. IN.

I have an index for that periodical for that year but not that issue so am not aware of what the 1994 issue had to say about Mr. Manring. The DCHA probably is familiar with his name.
