Final Note - The Stradling's cabin was opened to guests in 1963. It later became a part of Friendship Lane and Cabin, a local museum which included the cabin, a picnic area, and a barn that housed early farming equipment. A vast amount of history unrelated to the cabin was displayed on the the inside walls. About a third of the items in the cabin were heirlooms owned by the family, and the Stradlings purchased items to add to the collection. Other people donated things they wanted saved for posterity. Nearly all the displayed items were tagged with background information.

After the demolition of the old Delaware Co. Indiana courthouse, some of its statuary was rescued and taken to the Stradling farm where it was displayed to the public. Those items were later returned to downtown and are now standing at Wysor Park at Walnut and Main streets (Muncie) across the street from their original home, and on the new County Building plaza. Portraits of Mr. Stradling's father and mother, Robert W. and Mary Weir Stradling, were hung on the cabin wall along with those of his grandparents, Evan and Louise Weir. Cast iron toys on display were ones Mr. Stradling played with as a boy. Many items were returned to their donors near the time of Mr. Stradling's death in 1987.
