The Indiana 44th and 72nd drew men from Tippecanoe and surrounding counties. Benjamin F. Magee wrote "History of the 72nd Indiana" which you can find at the Tippecanoe County Public Library on South Street in Lafayette. My copy shows that there were several Armstrongs and Fishers recruited from these counties. If you give me some names I can look in the roster for them.
