The Gibler, Turney, and Kimmel families were located in Somerset Co, PA in the late 1700s. The Turneys were from Addison Twp, and there are references to Stone Creek. The Kimmels lived at "The Glades". George and Mary Turney had 7 known children: Eve Turney married John Kimmel, her sister Catherine married John's brother Adam Kimmel, her other sister Esther married Christian Gibler, and brother Jacob married Mary Horner. This group left Somerset Co, PA around 1800 and settled in Cheat River, WV (which at that time was on track for a migration into eastern OH). By 1813 all of these families had settled in Rumley Twp, Harrison Co, OH. Turney brothers John, George, and Philip remained in Somerset Co, PA. In 1856, Jacob Turney's widow Mary, and her son Jacob's family migrated to Whiteside Co, IL. Some of the Gibler family also went to Whiteside Co. Both Giblers and Turneys can be found buried in Minta Cemetery in Garden Plain. Hope this helps.
