I am looking for information on:

Jacob M "Jake" & Adda Schindler, who seemed to flip-flop in
Iroquois & Vermilion Counties. I do know that in 1939 they
had moved to Chicago, Cook Co. as I found this in Jacob's
brother's obituary. In Nov 1961, Ada's brother, John A Torbet
died, and it stated "three sisters preceded him in death."

Mrs Emma [Torbet] Bookwalter

Funeral services were held at the Weyand Funeral Home in Milford, Friday afternoon, July 12, at two o'clock for Mrs Emma Bookwalter, a life long resident of Iroquois county. Services were in charge of Rev. C.E. Butler and interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Emma Torbet Bookwalter, wife of J Adolphus Bookwalter was born on a farm near Iroquois, November 03, 1871. On May 8th, 1939 they celebrated their Golden Wedding at their home in Milford. Mr and Mrs Bookwalter made their home in Milford practically all their married life and have held in high esteem by all their many friends. Everything that careful nursing could do was done to add comfort to and prolong the life of Mrs Bookwalter, but at her age the injury she received when she fell on the basement steps of her home in February added to an already weakened condition made her case one of grave concern.

Besides the husband, Mrs Bookwalter is survived by four children, Alma Strand, Thirza Fletcher, Edna Christiansen and George, also a brother John Torbet of Waseka, and a sister Mrs Ada Schindler of Chicago, and the following grandchildren, Jeanne Stolts, Wanda Harter, Fritzie Isaacson, Martin, Edna, Joe, Gloria and George Jr Bookwalter. Two children Russell Ivan and Joe preceded her in death.
