I've found this George Swingle and wife, Mary on census records in Tazewell Co, IL in 1850; and in Polk Co, MO in 1860,1870 and 1880. I wonder if he is related to my 3rd great grandfather John Swingle, who was also born in KY and is on the Cedar Co, IL census in 1850, and 1860. John was married in 1834 to Hannah Cordell in Fulton Co, IL which is right next to Tazewell Co, IL. My John Swingle died in Cedar Co, IL in 1864. I wonder if John and George are brothers and are the 2 males, between 20-30 in age, in Tazewell Co, IL on the 1840census, listed with their father John Swingle. There is a female with them age 20-30 which could be my John's wife, Hannah and there is a older female, 50-60 years old that could be George and John's mother. The head of house, John Swingle is age 70-80. On the 1820 and 1830 census, I suspect this family may be the John Swingle family in Irvine twp, Estill Co, KY. What do you think?
