Yes, a Vintage reply !!! I thought of responding in this original (old) request, because this message is still posted, and I guess some people follow this thread because it might link to their quest as well. And they might intervene to contribute and help to the conversation : )
About Helena Wuster (or Helena Wurster- I have seen this patronym as well and names changed so often).
Of course I cannot be sure - but from American and Canadian records I checked (between 1780 and 1850) I don't see any convincing ancestor/parent of her name (or variant) coming to Canada.
I have a Fritz - Mueller contact living in France
whose immediate family is from Alsace
He saids there was an important emigration from Alsace in 1830-1850. Some went to Paris to stay - some emigrated for America - nothing about Canada
Canada was not a privileged place for Alsatians/Alsacians at that time. I really think they went to US directly - There might have been exceptions of course...
I have to re-read about history - Possibly a Prussian war or another war..
