Looking for any information on this couple:
William and Lydia Thompson
who graciously took in my g,g, grandfather George Emerson in 1846 after his father Mathew Emerson died in Dekalb, New York.

I am wanting to find out if there may be an Emerson family connection with William or Lydia or if this childless Thompson couple knew Mathew and Sarah (Wiles) Emerson when they lived in England?

Would greatly appreciate any help or information.
