Thank you Marjorie, for your speedy response to my inquiry. You have filled in some big gaps in my Wilford genealogy and I thank you for that. I wasn't aware of all the children Jasper and Melinda had, only Alice and Lillie (who was listed on the marriage license of John and Alice as a witness). Alice and John Edwin Wilford had 6 children, Ethel M. b.Aug. 1889 in Illinois (probably Jo Daviess Co.), Feral E. b.Aug 1891 in Iowa, Jasper Edwin (surprise for me, was he born in Illinois?), Dorothy Esther b.June 1900 in Iowa, Edith Roberta b.June 1902 in Iowa, Vernon Oliver b.Aug 1902 in Minnesota. Vernon Oliver is my husbands father. Alice, from what we understand, died in 1904, possibly in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, and John Edwin remarried 1908, died March 11, 1913 in SweetGrass, Montana. The two oldest girl have been impossible to locate as well as the death of Alice. The 1900 census for Grinnell, Poweshieck County, Iowa is where I have gotten the information of the birth dates and places of the two oldest girls. Would the book you mention, 'Who was Who of Hanover, Illinois', be any more help to me in locating more information?
