I haven't had time to follow all the posts, but let me copy and paste info which was given to me. There was a Michael Courtney, born 1862, who died in Denver, Colorado. He was adopted by John A Weber.
4. MICHAEL COURTNEY (JOHN A.2 WEBER, JOHN1) was born April 04, 1862 in Hancock County, Illinois, and died May 17, 1935 in Denver, CO. He married CHRISTINA BOCK.
Notes for MICHAEL COURTNEY:
Colwich Currier, March 10, 1888
Mike Courtney, of the old firm of Weber & Courtney, dealers in general merchandise, called Wednesday. Since he left Colwich a year ago he has been at Nauvoo, Ill., but three weeks ago he came to this county and took unto himself a charming wife. At St. Mark, Feb. 14, 1888, by the Father Krans, he married Miss Christiana Bock, and has made an extended wedding trip, arriving in Colwich Wednesday. He will again engage in the general merchandise business in Colwich, but his arrangements are not all perfected yet, and knows nothing definite as to the time of opening. We welcome Mike among us, again, together, with his new wife, and by-the-way we wish them all joy and happiness.
