Have you found out anything about the German Catholics in Nauvoo since you posted this? I would imagine the Salt Lake City Family History Library would have something on this subject.
My gr gr gr grandparents came from Germany and were Catholics in Nauvoo, as well. His name was Gabriel Ambrose Webber and hers was Julia Sonneborn.
