Just an afterthought to all of this about the Grantor/Grantee Index...

Its probably pretty obvious, but just a reminder that all of this assumes that your ancestor was the OWNER of the property in question and not a renter or leasee in whch case the property and all documents pertaining to it will, of course, be listed under the owner's name.
