Morning Sharon-
Thanks so much for your help.
Yes, I have Albie's obits in my file, but I'm glad you brought it again to my attention as its been a while since I read over it.
Albie was indeed the sister of the Fred I am researching. She and sister, Marie Cerny (named in the obit), lived together in the house at 2736 Ridgeland for many, many years. Interestingly, the night that Officer Fred Kuncl was "called out" to handle the incident which took his life, he was at the house at 2736 Ridgeland attending a family function and playing cards.
Brother James Kuncl (also named in the obit) was Berwyn's assistant postmaster. He was the "informant" on Fred's death certificate & testified at the coroner's inquest regarding Fred's death.
Right off the top of my head, I am not quite sure who the Mary Kuncl is named in the obit. I'm going to have to look into that. This was one HUGE family. I never considered the possibility that this was the "May" I was looking for as "May" is named as such in several of the documents I have found which refer to Fred's wife. Indeed when Brother James tesified at the Coroner's Inquest, he also referred to Fred's wife as "May". One never knows, though. At the very least, I should probably find out who this Mary Kuncl is named in the obit. I might already have it somewhere in my notes. I'll have to check.
Thanks again for your assistance. If it wasn't for people like you willing to take the time to help a stranger, I'd still be at square one on this research.
Good Luck to you-
Paul
