I can't thank you enough for this link. I have been able to narrow my search for William Julian Sr. & William Jr.

Julian GA research
www.Woodward-Geiger.com
choose research tools and Cherokee County. There you will find the 1849 Tax Digest and maybe other helpful info. The 1849 Tax Digest lists William Julian but doesn't specify Sr. or Jr.

This has to be William Julian Jr. I presume that William Sr. has died between purchase of land in 1839 and 1849.

19 Militia Districts
1849 Cherokee Co. GA Tax Digest--960 Militia Dist.-- Salicoe
William Julian
AlfredHightower
George Hightower
Six Fendleys also/Findley misspelling
These names are associated with William Julian Sr.and William Julian Jr.
Alfred Hightower in May 1837 married Hulda Julian, 1820-1902, d/o William Julian Jr.

This means that William Julian Sr. died between the census of 1840 (Cherokee) and 1848, probably a little earlier.

This part of Cherokee Co. GA became a part of PICKENS CO. GA 5 Dec. 1853

Under Cherokee Co. GA on this web site, it is possible under research tools to get the index to cemeteries, etc.
