William Julian Sr. & Jr. went from Pickens/Pendleton Co. SC to Cherokee
Co., GA around 1830. They are both there in the 1840 census, although
William Sr. is old and did not live until the 1850 census. William
Julian Jr.(b.1796 NC) had a wife named Lydia or Liddy (perhaps
Elizabeth). Because of the splintering of Cherokee Co. GA, it may be that
these Julians were actually living in what became Pickens Co.,
GA--William Julian Jr. is there in Pickens Co. GA by 1860.
Is anyone researching this Julian family. Spellings for this name read
Julien, Julian, Julen, Julan, Julin, and even some that are more far
removed.

Wm Julian Sr. probably died between 1840 & 1850, William Jr. after that?
1840 CHEROKEE CO. GA.. He is shown as age 80 to 90 therefore born 1750 to
1760 . Living with him are a male and female 40 to 50 and one female 10
to 15. This is clarified by the 1850 census for the same area of
Cherokee. Living there with many of the same neighbors as in 1840 is
William Julian, age 66 , with wife Lydia age 54. No children are with
them, and apparently William Sr. has died. Important to us is that
William Jr. is shown as being born in NC and Lydia in SC. So William Jr,
was born in NC in 1796 between the 1790 and 1800 census. The 1860 census
for Pickens County GA( which was taken out of Cherokee GA) confirms this
although William's age is shown as 73 and Liddy's is 64. Same birth
places. I also found the daughter's marriage (Hulda) to Alfred Hightower
or Alfred Milton in the 1840's ,
*Joseph Julian appears to be a separate line--spelled Josef
