Ga. .. who entered the service the 10th of march last and died the 7th day of may last in the hospital of Atlanta. And … swears that said Elisha Bryant has neither wife nor child and that she does not know whether his Father is living or not that his father John P Bryant … and left her and her children six years ago and that she has not heard from him in three years that she (his mother) has raised Elisha and is entitled to his services? and that her son Elisha was living with her at the time he Volunteered helping to support her and her children and that she is the only person entitled to claim and that she makes this affidavit of declaration for the purpose of obtaining the pay due her from the Confederate States for the services of her … son as a volunteer in the confederate service.
