I figured from your posts that you had the list of children. Here it is. Not sure that I have a copy of this will, just the basic info from it. Jesse BOWDEN wrote the will on 04 Apr 1835, it was filed on 11 May 1835 by Sally BOWDEN. So Jesse died sometime between these two dates. Children mentioned: James M., William F., Andrew J., Elizabeth, Mary, and Charles (all named) BOWDEN and Martha ADAMSON. I have wondered if maybe Martha was the oldest child, but it is possible that the boys could be older.

There are seven other BOWDEN marriages in Oglethorp Co. Georgia.

This is all I know about these other BOWDENs.

I've been looking for every WILLIAM BOWDEN I could find durin the last 30 years trying to discover which one was my John BOWDEN's father. One of John's sons wrote an autobiography for Goodspeed's Histories here in Arkansas and said that John's father was William BOWDEN. Nothing else about him. Since there was an older William BOWDEN in Maury Co. TN just north of Lawrence Co. I was just sure he was the one. But his Rev. War pension info states in one of the papers, that James BOWDEN was the only surviving son. Since my John was still alive at this time and living in the next county, guess he isn't the one. They all moved to TN at the same time.
