Yes, I have that article and it is probably where I got the date of death. However, everything printed is not always correct. It appears that Benjamin was married in the 1850 census. The Hall county census taker appears to only list the Head of Household by their full name. Wives and children are shown with an initial and ditto marks for last name. The 1850 census shows Benjamin and R ", which indicates to me she is likely his wife.
The article you cite also states that Sarah Mauldin is the daughter of John Mauldin which I think is highly unlikely. I believe Sarah Mauldin to be the daughter of James Mauldin and sister of Tyre H Mauldin who witnessed John Hawkins' will in Abbeville, SC in 1799. I believe Tyre Hawkins and Balaam Hawkins were named for Sarah Mauldin's brothers.
The article is very informative, but I think at least some of it is based on some incorrect research.
