Melanie – was the Peter Elrod you refer to Peter Lewis Elrod (b. 7/3/1837 in Murrayville, GA, d. 2/23/1902 in Murrayville, GA). Married Sarah Ann Garner 3/7/1856. He was my 2nd great granduncle.

I have his father as John Elrod (b. 1799 in Anderson Cty., SC, d. 1871 in Hall Cty., GA). John married three times 1. Elizabeth Wood (1816) – no children; 2. Rachel LaBoon (1822) – 8 children between 1823 & 1849; 3. Laura King (1869), - no children.
