I am not related but found these Rowland references in "Footprints Along the Hoopee" A History of Emanuel County 1812-1900
In 1827 ROWLAND, William was listed as a teacher
In the 1895 land lottery of Montgomery county Ga James ROWLAND is listed
Mary ROWLAND married Mannen Moore April 20, 1847
James S. ROWLAND married Dacue Susan Johnson Nov 23, 1856
1820 census includes Nathan, Richard and William ROWLAND
In 1841 tax digest 56th district Joseph, Nathaan and Williamson ROWLAND are listed
In 1864 list of Soldiers widows and orphans, Nancy ROWLAND and 2 children (unnamed) are listed.
In a register of poor children of Emanuel county 55th district the names Sarah and Gordon ROWLAND are listed. For the 56th district Thomas, Julia Ann, William J., Amanda J., Sarah C. and James A., ROWLAND are present. The poor childrens records don't seem to have a date but it says the naes were recorded in either 1835 or 1853. I don't know why it is not more specific.
I hope some of these names will help you.. Candace Smith
