In a reference for Eman. county called Footprints Along the Hoopee... there is a William Martin listed in the land plat book A 1813-1829 so he was a land owner. There is also a Reubin Martin listed, maybe a relative. The 1820 census lists the following Martins, Martha, Benjamin, Reubin, Thomas and William. In the 1849 tax digest for 1841 49th district, there is a William Martin Sr and Jr. along with a John Martin. 57th district has a Jesse Martin. Tax digest 1851 49th district John S. Martin....58th district James Martin...59th district Joseph Martin.
