I know this is old but as new people come through the boards I need to make sure that they don't grab the wrong family.

The William Evans living with the McQuagges in 1850 is NOT the Wm Evans who married Sophia Irvine in 1803 in Savannah, Chatham, Georgia. The Georgia couple DID NOT have any children and the husband DIED in NY in 1837 so he's not the guy on the 1840 and 1850 censuses in FL. We have the parents, sibling, lives and wills for the Georgia couple. The will are on FDS film (and my tree).

And watch out for the "new" LDS site that says William died in Cabarrus, NC in 1844. There may be three sets of Wm Evans and Sophia Irvin/Irvines for all I know but the couple married in 1803 isn't the couple in Florida or North Carolina.

If you have any documentation on the name of the mother of Sophia (Mrs. Angus McQuagge) in Florida please let us know. There are a few of us who are having trouble with it. The rest are name collectors who don't care.
