Surnames: BLOCKER ; RICE; ; JOHNSON; LEA
Thank you so much for the data. You can't know how much I appreciate your kindness & time. I had almost given up hope, that anyone would know of Blocker Crossroads. John G. Rufus BLOCKER Jr & wf Mary T. Johnson were my 3 rd GGrand-parents, through their son Stephen (1806 SC-1887 Ga) & his wife Rebecca Caroline RICE (1814 SC-1886 Ga). I 'm interested in learning all I can about John & Mary's life & family, their property & plantation.
I do have some data on John's son Capt Haley Talbot I (1818 SC-1897 FL) & wf Sarah Jane LEA (1818 NC-186? FL) and their fam, but very little FL back-ground on John Blocker Jr & his FL endeavors. From the name of the Lake "Laura", it may have been named for John's favorite dtr, Laura Amelia (d 1843 FL), if, indeed, he named the lake. I am located in Melbourne, Brevard Co FL. I'll have to make a trip up to see you. In the meantime, could you email or scan a little of your research for me to work on? I'd really appreciate it. Email < geneseaker@earthlink.net> Thanks, K.
