I was assured by someone back then that this deed described a lot on The Strand in New Castle, which I don't doubt, except I have since stumbled on a record that involved folks in Salem county, NJ so include it here for the good of anyone researching these early names...on both sides of the river.

1685 May 19. Lacroy, Machiel Machielse, (Michael), of Lacroy's Poynt, Salem Tenth, planter; will of. Wife Margrett, Lucas' daughter, sole heiress of all the estate. Witnesses-Gerrardus Wessel and Fopp Jansen Outhoote. Recorded February 10, 1686-7.

1686 Aug. iii. Inventory of the personal estate, £132.4, incl. debts due by Hendrick van der Burgh, Marcus Elger, widow Van Hyst, Jonas Scoggin, Woola Franson, Lucas Peeterson, John Lacroy, Ard Johnson, John Scoggin, Andrew Senick, widow Weyman and Richard Hancock. The estate is indebted £4.3.6 to Obediah Dunckley, John Williams, Euart Aldricks, Cornelious Boon, William Gilljohnson, Hendrick Cornelious, Mathias Bellowes, widow Cantwell and Wm. Flower; made by William and Yealous Gilljohnson.
