I am looking for John/Jan/Janos Halkovic/Halkovics who came to the US in 1911 and seems to have lived for a while in Canonsburg, PA (His immigration document says he came by a boat from Bremen, paid by an uncle Janos Revilak and that he was going to Canonsburg, PA.) He was about 20 in 1911 and he came from Austria-Hungary (the place where he came from is now in Eastern Slovakia). His immigration document says he was born in "Uzovsky Salgov". His nationality was Slovak. I found his US entry/customs forms under the name Janos Halkovics and apparently he used a similar spelling in Canonsburg (I found a newspaper article from 1912 from a Canonsburg paper, which says that he did not pick up his mail at a local post office, his name is spelled there Janos Halkovic). However, I am guessing that he may have used "John" instead "Jan" or "Janos" (a possibility is also a modified spelling for Halkovic/Halkovics). Any hints as to the whereabouts of his family would be useful (he was my grandmother's brother). I know he was married and had children. He visited Europe during World War I, apparently, he was in the Legions.
