Hello, I've been trying to find information about my gg grandfather for many years and just discovered new information that his family was from "Fairfield Town."

I'm willing to travel to Fairfield to do my own research but it's hours away, and I don't know where to start. Can someone who is familiar with the area please tell me how and where to dig?


(((My gg grandfather's name was Daniel Summers/Somers Lacy and he was born in 1815. He named his first son Joel after his father in law, then came Charles Russell--possible clues to his father's name or brothers. Other children were Mark, Ann Elizabeth, and Daniel Somers Jr.

I suspect descendancy from Hannah Summers and Edward Lacy (1712-1772) because of the name Summers being used repeatedly, but can't find the link.

I've been to the county library in Hartford, but cannot locate a birth record. )))
