I am researching the surname Redpath in Colorado. I have a family Jacob Redpath and Temperance A. Carmichael in Meeker, Rio Blanco Co., CO with a family that includes a son named William. I have never been able to trace him any further into adulthood. I had assumed he died young. Perhaps, your William Redpath is the same one!
