Isaac Norton Brock born NY 1835, came to CA about 1860, held land in five area counties, including Yuba Co. Returned to Rock County WI and married Jeanette Parker in 1871. Came back to CA and lived primarily near Nicolaus in Sutter Co CA. Isaac died in May 1906, leaving a widow and several children in the counties. One son, Frank Brock, married Ethel Cate, daughter of Charles Cate and Ellen Miller. Charles was the son of Reuben Cate and Elizabeth Matlock Cate. Reuben and his parents, Isaac Cate and Susannah Maynard were probably all born in TN. Reuben died near Nicolaus in October 1870. The Cate(s) family scattered from Sutter/Yuba/Nevada/Placer counties to Oregon and other CA counties. Reuben Cate's son, Charles, married secondly, Ellen Miller, daughter of Alexis and Mary Ann Adams Miller. Mary Ann Adams Miller was the daughter of William Norton Adams and Mary Ann Vine (Chase). Parentage of Alexis, Wm Adams and Mary Ann Vine is not yet known.
Most of these families had many children, which causes me to believe that some of them are still out there, maybe looking for cousins as I am doing.
