Hello, Yes I have used these sources for years and they have been most helpful for some of my family lines.
JOHNSON--In this city, October 17, to the wife of Abert JOHNSON, a son." Source: San Francisco Examiner, 21 Oct 1890, page 7
This Albert is my gggf and this was one of eleven children he had!! I actually do know when most of Alberts children where born but I am so hoping to find his marriage records for Albert as it may give several of my unanswered questions to light. We were told not to long ago that someone from the SF area Haycock family my have the bible with this record in it. I have tried the catholic churches around SF with no luck and no mention of any license or wedding in the paper. I'm almost thinking they went out of town to get married!! There is also a huge question of who Albert's parents REALLY are as he was born in WI but came as a baby to CA by 1863 as his brother was born in 1863. I do have him with a Peter & Josephine Johnson but on his death record it says John Johnson is his father and we also were told there was a divorce some where with this family. After 1870 it never lists Josephine with her family but lists Peter with kids. There is a Josephine Johnson matching age and place of both in Napa State Hosp. not sure if this is ours. Just hoping the bible might have some of those details in it somewhere!!
Thank's for the info as a couple new things I might look into as I might not of followed up on them years ago. Thanks it really is a great source we have for SF researchers!!
