Hi! I just went through this myself researching my Bio-Uncle -as I'm adopted-Here's what you do--Go to the L.A. County Records website.There's a link to Divorce copies-Put in info.It helps if you have a date or even year, which I did thanks to someone who looked it up for me and it was in the L.A. Times in 1954. It takes a least 30 days plus the mailing-You can check the Status also by putting in your order#. Mine is ready-didn't come yesterday,so should show up by Wed, I'm sure.I needed this Divorce record to see where my Uncle was married and maybe the wife's maiden name-Hope this helps and Good Luck-Susan Patterson(TX.)
