I am trying to find a family for my great great great grandmother Cynthia Ann "Sinthy" Coker, maybe born about 1805. "Family Tradition" says that her surname is Coker. She probably married John Swanson Yarbrough in the Hempstead, Clark, or Pike County AR area. "Family Tradition" also says that when Cynthia died her sister Francis Coker married John Swanson Yarbrough about 1845. This could have happened in the Houston County, Texas area or Swanson went back to Arkansas and married her.
Francis Coker born circa 1813 first married a unknown Tope. A cousin has located a Frederick Tope on the 1837 Pike Co., AR tax list. By 1842 Francis had married a Unknown Moore. Their son John Moore was born 1842 and military records say he was born in Little Rock, Pulaski Co., AR.
I am hoping that somebody knows information about Lydia and Marthy Coker on the 1840 census and can help me make a connection to this Coker family. This has been a brick wall for many many years in my Yarbrough family.
Sincerely,
Renee Smelley
