The name of Davis Henderson, son of Wilson T. Henderson is often misread and transcribed as David. I have compiled some information gathered on this family in order to document it properly. I welcome additions, corrections, etc.

First Generation
1. Wilson T. HENDERSON was born on 30 Oct 1762 in Orange or Granville County, North Carolina. He was member of church in 1820 in Hamilton County, Illinois. http://www.carolyar.com/Illinois/Church/history.htm
[From: History of Hamilton County, Illinois; pub. Goodspeed 1887; pp. 322-334]

He died about 1847 in Saline County, Illinois. His grave has been moved twice by coal mines. His "remains" now rest in front of Bankston Fork Baptist Church on old Route 13 west of Harrisburg. There is a marker on the southwest corner of the church noting his accomplishments, both as
a Revolutionary War soldier and a missionary. He filed for a Revolutionary War pension in 1838, at age 76. He not
only lists places to which he was posted but notes that the army drafted him at age 15. He says he served under Capt. Robert Frost and fought in the Battle of Eutaw Springs on September 8, 1781, about 30 miles east of Orangeburg, South Carolina. Henderson cites all his
residences after the war, noting the date of each move. He also includes a copy of his "indent book" (a log that lists payments to a soldier) from records in the Comptroller General Offices, in Columbia, SC. It shows payments made in 1778, 1780, and 1781. Other papers in his file indicate he was a Baptist minister and provide his approximate date of death.
