Desmond Walls Allen has published four volumes of the Arkansas Death Record Index. These books cover the years 1914-1948, and list only the deceased's name, date of death, and county of death. The volume for 1941-1948 also includes the deceased's race and the deceased's age at time of death.

Although by law, deaths after February 1, 1914 were to be reported to the State of Arkansas, many deaths were not reported, especially in rural areas. Therefore, this Index collection does not list all deaths.
