Hi Diane,
I have the 1870 Drew Co and 1880 Lincoln Co. census with Shepard Tucker. I also believe that the Samuel WHITE living next door is the brother of Sarah "Sallie" WHITE TUCKER. In 1880 the last person entered on Shep Tuckers household was a Cinthia IRVIN listed mother n law age 72 (1808) Al TN TN Perhaps a 2nd marriage for Cinthia?
There was a short Bio written about Shep Tucker and Sarah White many years ago by two of their grandchildren. These grandchildren are young enough to have known Sarah.
"Our grandparents, Shep and Sarah (Sallie) Tucker, together with Uncle Sam White and his family and at least one other brother of Sarah White Tucker's left Shelby, Mississippi and came to Caldwell County, Texas in 1851. They stayed in Texas 5 years and decided to return to Shelby, Mississippi. On the way, which was early in the fall, they camped in a large pecan grove and Grandmother Tucker's single brother ate a large quantity of pecans which were not yet fully ripe. He became very ill that night and died the next day and was buried where they camped. The family never went back to Mississippi, but settled in Lincoln County, Arkansas where they stopped on their way to Mississippi."
