Hello Carol: Thanks for your response, it's good to make this connection. I've just started with the Bettis family, but have quite a bit on the Whites, my grandmother was a White and from the same White family from Alabama. We have been looking for the marriages of Faith Ann White and some of her sisters for a long time. Faith or Fatha was from Tennesse, she was born in McNairy County, Tennessee. Her parents, Elbert White and Eunice P. Calvert married 1828 in Blount County Alabama, but moved to McNairy County Tennessee abt 1843, stayed there untill about 1854, then moved to Polk County Arkansas. They were listed there in the 1860 census, but shortly after the start of the Civil war, they left, some going to Missouri, others coming to Van Buren County. At least 2 of Faith's brothers were in Giles Twp, Van Buren County in the 1870 census. They moved south into Faulkner County by 1880, but where they lived was not that far from Peason where the Bettis families lived.
Carol I will write you at the address you have posted, and can send you more on the Whites if you like.
BTW, we visited the Cemetery at Peason today, so I have pictures of lots of their tombstones now. I've been by there dozens of times, but never suspected that I had kin there. It's really a small world sometimes.
