I really don't know how/where I got Charles as a middle name, probably from my father, who spent a great deal of time with his grandfather, T.D., or from my aunt Vada Noggle who did extensive research in the 50s and 60s when you had to actually go and look at the records. I will continue to pursue that.

Thank you for the copy of the marriage license. I have gone back and forth between Barnes and Rames and have not been able to find her under either. I can see the problems with interpretation of handwriting but in the notation in the upper left hand corner it clearly looks like a B.

Let me know if you have any success with the Rankin theory. I have the Garrett information from my Aunt Vada and I know she spent a good bit of time in both TN and NC doing research, but that does not ensure accuracy.
