RICHARD MACEACHERN

Richard G. "Dick" MacEachern, 65, of Florence died Oct. 21, 2000 in Florence.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Simes Mortuaries Florence Chapel. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Assumption Catholic Church by the Rev. Charles Cloud. Burial was in Florence Cemetery.

Mr. MacEachern was born March 3, 1935 in Boston to Allan and Harriette MacEachern. A Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, he was a police officer in Boston before retirement and was founder and first president of Boston Police Patrolmen's Association. He was a member of the Gila Valley Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen A.; two sons, Gregory MacEachern of Falmouth, Mass., and Mark MacEachern of Braintree, Mass.; three sisters, Mary MacEachern of Jupiter, Fla., Harriette Sweeney of Houston and Isabell Whelan of Plymouth, Mass.; and three brothers, Allan MacEachern of Vero Beach, Fla., Donald MacEachern of Cape Cod, Mass., and Malcolm MacEachern of Billerica, Mass. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard MacEachern.
