Need Information on the town of Maverick. In 1952 our family lived there. I was born in McNary in 1953. It was a logging camp with small houses, a general store and a one room school house. My mother, Emily Smith, was the school teacher and taught all grades in one room. My father,Fred Smith worked with the Railroad. My first home was a caboose that was on the railroad tracks. The company built Dad a house in Maverick. When it was finished we moved there. We left about 1955. Does anyone recall this Smith family? Would like information about the town and residents then. The Pettyjohns lived close by. Some of Dad's friends & coworkers were Apache.Were they part of a tribe? There was a lake close by. What was the name of it? When did it become a ghost town? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
