Thank you for answering. I have most of Jep and Juanita's material on the Mitchells. On his "Family Record" he lists George Andrew "Dick" Mitchell as "died at Vicksburg 14 Feb 1863" buried in grave # 782. "Cedar Hill" He also lists him as being in the 46th Infantry. The Alabama Archives does not list him at all. Fold3 just says G A Mitchell Co G 46th Reg. I visited the Vicksburg Cedar Hill cemetery long ago and took a pic of what I thought was his grave. The picture for a G A Mitchell CSA says 46th Miss Inf. and 15th Feb 1863. Don't quite know how to resolve the problem. I visited Jep and Juanita in Montgomery. Juanita later sent me his records and Bible records. Some of the dates are incorrect on the Bible.Record. All in all it is a valuable research record. Some things are just not to be solved.Guess if I ever get back to Vicksburg I will take more care. Thanks again Eleanor
