A further note. Because of the dual nature of the Construction of the early days of the M & C, there were 2 Divisions. The western ran from Memphis thru TN, into MS and on to the AL border at Bear Creek. The Eastern ran from Bear Cr. AL to a point of junction with the N & C- the east bank of Crow Creek, AL(Stephenson). March 1855 stockholders meeting-Alabama state line to Tuscumbia with 2 bridges open, each with 150 ft span crossing Bear Creek. Depending on the time frame there were several bridges built in the Eastern Div. May help a little bit.
