Surnames: BOIT; BROWN; PITTMAN; ROWE; JONES; REID; WILLIAMS; McANULTY; PYNES;
Hi Steve, Been meaning to contact you one of these days, so it may as well be now. I share all I have freely, on any of the fam names researched. I have limited data on the BOIT/BOYT fam, though.
Joseph Henry BOIT marr Mrs. Marg. Priscilla Bordeaux PITTMAN BROWN 1858-9 Henry Co AL ; ( widow of husb #1. Mr. ?? BROWN, d Rand./Clay Co GA). Jos was 10 yrs younger than Widow PITTMAN-BROWN.
Their dtr Margaret Caledonia "Callie" BOIT b 1861 Gordon area, Henry Co AL. (Callie marr Dr. T. J. McLENDON). Joseph Henry BOIT died 1863-4 Henry Co AL, of consumption, was released from duty from CSA to return home to die.
Joseph's father was Henry F.(Fisher?) BOIT, and is an enigma, traveled around leaving little trace, only minimal paper trail (census Jax Co Fl?). It is rumored that Henry BOIT & Timothy PITTMAN (Marg's father) went into some type of business venture (a river-front Trading Post?) together about 1846, & left the Henry Co AL area for a place that took me ten yrs to locate: Ft Simkins/Simpkins Fl, up the St John's River, now Duval Co FL, near Jacksonville area . This was an pld Fort left from the Indian/Seminole Wars etc. No services, census or recs exist before 1880's for that area, it was that remote & unpopulated.
Supposedly, the last child of Timothy PITTMAN & Marg. Priscilla Bordeaux EVANS was born there, a Martha Evans PITTMAN 1847-8 in N. FL. Then the venture failed, & Timothy PITTMAN & fam moved back to Clay Co GA where he died 1854. His widow M.P.B.EVANS-PITTMAN moved in with her dtr Mrs. M.P.B. Pittman-Brown-BOIT in Henry Co Al where she died 1887, buried Friendship Meth Ch Cem (Old Gunn's Chapel, Gordon).Could this Henry (F?) BOIT be one & the same? I haven't a clue.
But someone who may know is my distant cousin, Mrs. Julia Ledyard in TN. < J71623Le@aol.com > or 1215 Chickering Rd; Nash., TN. 37215...She's the family expert & historian, & a lovely lady. Contact her for more BOIT info, OK?
In the meantime, if you check out my queries, under my name Kathleen L. Hozza, you'll see several of my "brick walls" which I surely could use some help on, or at least some suggestions etc.

Mrs. M.P.B. PITTMAN-BROWN , dtr of Timothy PITTMAN, had 2 ch by Mr. ?? BROWN:
1) Mary Emma BROWN b 1846-7 Ga.(m Wyatt Green WMS, CSA vet); both died 1890's, lving 11 orphans.

2) John T.(Thomas? Timothy?) BROWN , b 1848 Ga- d 194??? in AL.; marr- Susan Alice JONES 1871 Henry Co AL.
(They are my direct gggr-parents) . I have Susan Alice's lineage to 1600's, but none on John's paternal (BROWN) lines. I do have John's maternal lineage (BORDEAUX) to 1500's; PITTMAN lines to 1700 Va.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thank you, Kathleen
