This is my line of Sullivans and Moses is not in this tree. Moses is often confused with this branch and is a completely different tree.
Jason Rasberry Sullivan was born 27 July, 1860 in AL, and died February 0, 1909 in Hamlin, Texas (buried in East Cemetary). He married Rebecca Elizabeth Gant aug 02, 1888 in Hillsboro, TX.
Father was Rizen (Rizer); Curtis; Hampton, John, Daniel.
I am in the direct line of Curtis.
Children of Jason & Rebecca Gant:
Jesse Earl, Clarence Madison; Alva Emmet (his daughter lives near me and is a professional Archiver and has verified this information as factual); Annie May; Katherine; Otha Forrest; Maggie Louise; Bertha Zelma; & James Carl.
My line is James Edward; James; Curtis; Hampton, etc.
I have deed abstracts & wills that proven we go back to Daniel abt. 1711 NC. Family came from Ireland (Southern part). One researcher has stated Daniels father was Owen and shows the tree back to 1500 Ireland but I doubt it is proven as she shows them from Northern Ireland.
This branch came over and was hired by England to clear the river in Duplin Co., NC to drain swamp land but was not successful.
As far as the wagon accident: It is stated that this happened in Dale Co., AL to a man and wife (Sullivan) but research failed to show any record of such. It is possible that it could have been Rizen and his wife but not proven. The courthouse in Dale Co. burned twice and all records were lost. No newspapers have been located to proven this.
If you are related to Jason and wish to have the complete tree I have in in word document so just let me know and I will provide you a copy.
I hope this helps clear up this Moses myth.
