Looking back over my data, I see that I have a question regarding Prudence that I don't have an answer to and am hoping for some help.

On the 1850 Butler Co census, John & Charity are in 817/817 as follows:

John Parker 50 M Farmer $200 SC can't read/write [1800]
Charity 42 F SC can't read/write [1802]
Benjamin 18 M Farmer AL [1832]
Mary 14 F AL [1836]
John 17 M AL [1833]
Matilda 10 F AL [1840]
Malinda 8 F AL [1842]
Martha 6 F AL [1844]
William 4 M AL [1846]
James 2 M AL [1848]
Sarah ! F AL [1849]

In 1860 John & Charity are in household 1177/1177 and among their children is the oldest child in the house listed as P M 19 F [1841]

In 1870 John & Charity are in 63/71 and among their children is Prudence 27 [1843}

In 1880 Prudence single and aged 37 [1843] is living with her widowed mother, Charity.

In 1910, she's still single aged 69 [1841] and living with her nephew, Tysdel (Tisdale) and his family. He's the son of her brother, John.

What I'm trying to figure out is whether Prudence is
Prudence Matilda Parker or
Prudence Malinda Parker

Ancestry.com's Alabama Deaths, 1908-59 shows a Matilda Parker who died Jun 1935 in Butler Co, AL Vol 25 Roll 3 Page 12470. Could this be her??

Is there some definite proof showing Prudence's middle name?? And what happened to Prudence's sister Matilda/Malinda?? Did she marry??
