"A Brashear(s) Family History", Vol. 3 by Charles Brashear, page 81 -
He was the second sheriff of Roane County, TN. Fought in the War of 1812. On September 30, 1813 he enlisted as a private in Capt. W. D. Nelson's Company of the Tennessee Militia, and was discharged on January 1, 1814. He was a trustee of Rittnehouse Academy in 1822. His third wife was Elizabeth Abston b.1817. He transported his grandmothers body from Guilford Co., NC to Roane County, TN for reburial. This information & more is also from the book "Roots of Roane County, Tennessee 1792 "- by Snyder E.
