Have a number of questions re: the subject persons.
Joice (Joyce) Barlow married William A Pollard 1 Mar 1820 in Mobile Co, AL.
They had 4 daughters:
1. Susan who married Howard Hall
2. Eliza
3. Caroline who married Edward Steadham
4. Hannah
Have been tracking Susan & Howard Hall on census records today and it's snowballed.
3 of their children married Dolives (if I've got this wrong, please correct me):
a. William P married Reubena J (Rubena) Dolive 30 Jun 1867
in Baldwin County
b. Joice A married Rufus F Dolive 22 Jan 1868 in Baldwin County
c. Sallie married Reuben Dolive 9 Dec 1876 in Baldwin County
From what I can tell, Rufus & Rubena are children of Reuben Dolive b 1805 AL & Elizabeth A --- b 1821 AL.
The 1850 Baldwin Co census Division 3 shows:
241/241:
Dolive, Reuben 45 M None $100 Ala
Elizabeth A 29 F Ala
Van Roy 10 M Ala
Ruphus 8 M Ala
Onelia 4 F Ala [did she marry Walter H Sibley son of Cyrus & Eliza???]
Cecelia 6 F Ala
Robinia 2 F Ala (Rubena)
Edra 6/12 Ala
Rina?, John 74 M Ireland
Dolive Alex 21 M Ala
Sedwine 20 M Ala
Now I'm thinking that Elizabeth A would be a second wife for Reuben. Am I correct??
From their placement on the census, are Alex and Sedwine sons of Reuben's first marriage and, if so, who was he married to 1st?
Looks like Alexander Dolive married Ann Durnat/Durant 1 May 1860 in Baldwin Co, AL
There's also a Lewis Doleave 31 born Baldwin Co, AL married to Aurelia 29, with children William L 6, Louisa A 3 and Leicester P 4/12 on this same census. Also in the house with them is Leicester Hall 37 born AL (is he the brother of Aurelia & who are their parents?)
The 1830 Baldwin Co census shows Louis Dolive 60-70 and Reuben Dolive 20-30.
The 1840 Baldwin Co census shows Louis Dolive 70-80 and Reuben H Dolive 40-50.
Would this be Reuben from the 1850 census and would the elder Louis be the father of both Reuben & Lewis from the 1850 census??
All help to untangle this is much appreciated!!
