Cece, have you posted this to the surname list and to the county list for Alabama on rootsweb. You may get information from the slaveowners family or from someone who is tracing your line. Also, try www.afrigenas.com. That is an African American genealogy group I have been associated with for over 15 years. You can post your information there.

Finally, try all variations in the spelling of their first and last names for the 1880. Census workers often spelled names phonetically. I have had to go through every name in a county to find relatives.
